RADIANT BEAM ARRAY

How it Works

Interference from background noise is a major problem for hearing aid users. Traditional devices with omnidirectional microphones amplify all sounds in the listener's environment equally. Hearing devices with directional microphones maximally amplify sounds directly in front of the user, and minimally amplify sounds from the sides and rear.

With the Array, directionally processing the signals received by the microphones, sounds in the forward direction are emphasized 10-20 dB relative to the sounds coming from the sides and rear. Technology is incorporated which allows the user to "tune in" to the desired signal. The frequency response is divided into 12 frequency bands each with an adjustable gain. Because of the increased distance between the microphone and receiver when using the Array, a 10-15 dB increase in insertion gain may be possible before feedback, compared to using the hearing aid alone
